SEWERS AND DRAINS. The Government do not now undertake to

maintain the sewers and drains after they have been cone- tructed.

ZATER.

The Lessee is now asked to contribute

a sum of $20,000 towards the construction of a water

supply even though the Lessee will have to pay water rates in addition to the above expenditure.

NULLAHS.

The Government now withdraws its

offer to construct and maintain the mullahs in the

Fong naichong and Soo Kung Poo Valleys for the reception

of drainage of Crown land adjoining the area in respect

of which the Government offered to expand the same of $88,000 and considered that no economy on the expenditure proposed in this respect was possible.

MARKET.

The Government do not now undertake

to construct and maintain a market.

SCAVENGING.

The Government now withdraws its offer

to carry out scavenging on the area.

BUILDING STIPULATION. The Government now raquires that

the Leeree shall expend in buildings to be completed and

to begome rateable a sum of not less than $400,000 within

Thirty six months from the date of sale instead of within

Forty eight months as formerly required.

RETAINING WALLS.

Reference is for the first time now

made to these, the object of such reference at this late

date being obscure.

In my letter to you of the 7th July last and on Hig

Excellency's express suggestion, I arended my proposal and

offered the Goverment a premium of Two cante per square foot

(which was the full value placed on the land in question by the
